Skirted Mooring Cover (SMO)
Full deck over-boom and over stanchions cover with heavy duty nylon zipper running from the mast to each sidestay. A flap snaps over zipper to protect zipper from damaging UV. Stand up mast collar with drawcord closure. Flaps that snap around stays protect chain plates from water seepage and shade deck from UV discoloring in the stay areas. Tie down webbing loops are every 30" under the hem of the skirt to facilitate tying the cover down to your trailer or lift. Only 2 or 3 tie downs per side are usually necessary to keep cover from puddling. Large screen at aft end plus vent over front deck allows for flow though ventilation. Extra layers of reinforcement are added at gooseneck just behind mast collar, at end of boom, over spinnaker cleats and pulleys, over all standard-class protruding cleats and eyes, and back corners of boat. Exceptionally good UV protection for sails left flaked over boom during mooring. Has a skirt to protect the sides, transom, and bow from fading or chalking in the sunlight. Skirt has flaps which snap together at the stays, shock cord or tie cord in the hemline, and velcro closure at the bow. Back end of cover has zipper from topping lift hole to port backstay (assuming bridle backstay set-up) and allows for rear access.
