A boom tent is a protective cover that extends over the cockpit and the boom, from the mast to the transom. It is secured by snaps down the front of the mast, and by hooks on shock cord that attach to the rubrail. The boom tent is reinforced at the points where it contacts the gooseneck and the out haul. The back of the boom tent is open, allowing access to the transom.
